1925 Ford Beach Wagon

Beach wagon

In the New England area these wooden-bodied vehicles were known as beach wagons as they were used for transporting people to the beaches along the eastern seaboard. Later they would become known as station wagons as their use in transporting commuters to and from the railroad stations grew. They would also become known as "Woodies" to many of us. I had to opportunity to ride in one at Henry Ford's Greenfield Villiage.
