1908 Sears
In 1908, the same year Henry Ford introduced the Model T, Sears, Roebuck, & Co. started selling motor vehicles through its catalog. Included in the advertizing was a reference to the 3 foot high wheels "the proper height to give the road clearance necessary and to give the most satisfactory service and the least vibration." 3,500 vehicles were sold by catalog between the years 1908 and 1912.
