1906 Autocar
In Ardmore, Pennsylvania The Autocar Company built cars from 1901 to 1911. Autocar was an innovator and made the first multi-cylinder shaft drive car in United states of America. As of 1905 the gearshift, clutch, spark and throttle were all located on the steering column. Their advertizing campaign emphasized safety and dependability by stating, "they cannot blow up, or burn up."
