The Son
The Son is who we must place our faith and trust in. We must realize who He is and what He did. Jesus is the Son of God. He suffered and died in our place. He paid the penalty for our sin. He provided the way for us to be with God.
In John chapter 14 and verse 6 Jesus said,
"I am the way, and the truth, and the life;
no one comes to the Father but through Me."
Before we put our faith and trust in Jesus we are living in our sin and are separated from God. It is as though we are lost and need someone to find us and rescue us or save us from the bad situation we are in. The Bible tells us of Paul who was chosen by God to take the message of the good news to a lot of people that had not yet heard it. One of those was a man who worked in law enforcement. His account is recorded for us in the book of Acts. He came to face a great dilemma one night and he asked Paul and his companion what he should do to be saved. They told him,
"Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved . . ."
The key to being saved or receiving salvation is believing and trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ.
