Ford Model K

Ford Model K

In 1906 at the urging of his financial backers, Ford built the Model K. It was
a deluxe 6 cylinder automobile that had a 429.2 cubic inch [7033 cc] engine
which produced 40 H.P. It had an impressive 10 foot [3.04 m] wheelbase
and was capable of traveling 40 mph [64.4 kph] with it's two speed
transmission. The car was a financial flop and was only produced for two
years. Based on this lack of success, Ford began building less expensive
automobiles which were more affordable.
